It is with much regret that my article showing you how to make my unique Nursery Lamps has not
appeared in this latest issue of Dollshouse & Miniature scene as planned.
The Nursery Lamps project was to be the last in the series following on from the successful Bead lamps
and Candlestick lamp projects, and I really had saved the best ‘til last. Unfortunately another miniature business
selling lighting objected to my sharing this project with you, citing infringement of their design rights
and copyright over their own range of nursery lamps, and also claiming that such an article showing you how to make
my lovely lamps was encouraging you to breach their copyright.
I have studied their claimed range of lamps and found my own to be very different from theirs,
and so I do not consider their objections to be at all valid. However their objection left the
magazine in an awkward position, and since the magazine can not been seen to be involved in any
copyright issues they decided not to print the project.
It really is such a shame that you have been denied the project, but all is not lost.
If you go to the lamps page you will find all the kits for the Nursery Lamps that were featured
in the article, including a wonderful new Carousel Unicorn, this really is a unique design and
will look simply magical in any child’s room setting. This was my ‘best ‘til last’ design, which
I had saved for the magazine. All are available in kit form.
Making miniatures and sharing new ideas with you has always been my passion, and I don’t see the
point of creating if you can’t share my ideas with like minded friends. It is worth noting that
the magazines would not exist if people like me stopped sending in projects and their own variations of common objects.
So in closing I hope you will continue to use your own imagination, creating to your hearts content.
